Who inspires me:

People who are actively working towards living a life that is the most true and beautiful to them. I am also continually inspired by the artists and the makers of this world. Whether it is visual art, writing, gardening, dance, music, cooking, creating peace or meaningful relationships, etc., we can make something out of nothing and that is truly magical. I believe we all have this power within us, some have harnessed it well and others have yet to discover what they create or add to this world, and that is an exciting prospect.

Credentials:

Licensed Professional Counselor
Certified Grief Support Specialist
National Certified Counselor

Specialty:

I have a passion for working with and empowering women of all ages. There is also a special place in my heart for working with the geriatric population. My specialty areas include grief, trauma, couples, self-esteem, existential issues, and holistic wellness. Additionally I am a certified grief support specialist. I believe that people have the ability to grow in the midst of loss, and that awareness of and education on grief and the grieving process is vital to our humanity. I find fulfillment in walking alongside clients on their grief journey towards healing.

Approach:

My approach to the therapy process is collaborative, empathic, client-centered, trauma informed, and strengths based. I believe you are the expert of yourself, and I enjoy assisting clients to find and use their inner gifts to grow, heal, and overcome challenges. I aim to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental atmosphere for all clients. I work mainly from a person-centered and feminist orientation, while also incorporating aspects of DBT, narrative, creative arts, nature-based counseling, and existential therapy, depending on the clients needs and preferences. My orientation reflects my sensitivity to the larger contextual factors of one’s life and culture, as well as empowering and advocating for my clients and their strengths.
